{"id":860,"date":"2016-08-01T00:37:29","date_gmt":"2016-07-31T16:37:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.antipest.com.my\/apblog\/?p=860"},"modified":"2016-08-01T00:37:29","modified_gmt":"2016-07-31T16:37:29","slug":"cancer-treating-beetle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.antipest.com.my\/apblog\/cancer-treating-beetle\/","title":{"rendered":"Cancer-Treating Beetle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.antipest.com.my\/apblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/blister-beetle-01.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-605\" title=\"blister beetle (01)\" src=\"http:\/\/www.antipest.com.my\/apblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/blister-beetle-01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Insects are usually known to have caused more harm than good to human beings and plants.\u00a0 But, a medical study done by the American researchers has discovered that one type of insect known as the blister beetle from the family of coleoptera possesses cancer-fighting ability.<\/p>\n<p>Blister beetles, also known as Spanish flies, vary in body color from one to the other.\u00a0 Some are bright green in color, some are red, yellow, black, and some even have a mixture of two or more colors.\u00a0 This kind of beetle feeds on honeysuckles, soybeans, potatoes, garden vegetables, fruits, and olives.\u00a0 Southern regions of Europe and the Western parts of Asia are where these beetles inhabit.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.antipest.com.my\/apblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/blister-beetle-02.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-606\" title=\"blister beetle (02)\" src=\"http:\/\/www.antipest.com.my\/apblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/blister-beetle-02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a>Blister beetles contain cantharidin, a poisonous substance that can cause vomiting, blistering and pain.\u00a0 However, such substance was extracted and used as aphrodisiac in the olden days.\u00a0 In the modern era, cantharidin is now used as counteragent in traditional Chinese and Vietnamese medical practices to produce cantharides as counterirritants against warts, in treating kidney damage, diarrhea, urinary tract problem, burns, scalds, insect bites, and even used for treatment of cancer.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.antipest.com.my\/apblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/blister-beetle-03.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-607\" title=\"blister beetle (03)\" src=\"http:\/\/www.antipest.com.my\/apblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/blister-beetle-03-262x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"262\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.antipest.com.my\/apblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/blister-beetle-03-262x300.jpg 262w, https:\/\/www.antipest.com.my\/apblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/blister-beetle-03.jpg 525w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 262px) 100vw, 262px\" \/><\/a>Due to the fact that cantharidin has the function of blocking a number of proteins and inducing apoptosis in the body, it serves as a highly potential treatment solution for all kinds of tumor and even the stubborn ones (those that do not respond well to other medicaments).<\/p>\n<p>References:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.doctorshealthpress.com\/cancer-articles\/cancer-treatment-from-an-unlikely-source-insects\">http:\/\/www.doctorshealthpress.com\/cancer-articles\/cancer-treatment-from-an-unlikely-source-insects<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.answers.com\/Q\/What_does_the_blister_beetle_eat\">http:\/\/www.answers.com\/Q\/What_does_the_blister_beetle_eat<\/a><\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Blister Beetle &amp;
