What is Insect Light Trap?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Insect light traps (ILTs) are often used in pest control management programmes to attract certain flying insects using ultraviolet (UV) light<\/span><\/a>. In some cases, ILTs are used to monitor seasonal and distributional patterns of pest occurrence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That said, the trap works by emitting a spectrum of UV-A light, which is between 350 and 400 nanometres. It provides a maximum attraction for insects with positive photo-syntaxis like flies, and also it’s a range of UV radiation that’s harmless to humans<\/span><\/a>.
