HOW THE SENTRICON SYSTEM WORKS

The Sentricon Termite Colony Elimination System protects your home by stopping termites before they do any real damage to your property with its unique monitoring and baiting technique. The Sentricon System takes advantage of the termites' natural behaviour. When Worker Termites, which forage for food far and wide, discover food, they leave scent trails that summon the rest of the colony to the food source.

With that, the Sentricon System uses an in-ground bait station called Recruit™. Recruit AG contains the Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) hexaflumuron that prevents termites from successful molting and also the development of the subterranean termites.

Termites feed on the Recruit termite bait and share it with nestmates. As they continue feeding, their growth development is severely disrupted, resulting in the decline and, consequently, elimination of the termite colony when it can no longer sustain itself.

Advantages of the Sentricon System:

  • The entire termite colony can be wiped out with very little disruption to your home and garden.
  • The Sentricon System requires no drilling in floors or foundations, no digging or trenching and no gallons of chemical solution injected in the soil.
  • The System protects structures before and after termites are found.
  • The application of the active ingredient is no more than 1gm, and thus, harmless to humans.
  • The active agent serves only to bring about cessation to the growth and development of termite activity. Therefore, it is not poisonous to humans.
  • The System acts as an effective and long-term control for the management of the termite colony.
  • The cap design of the Sentricon station is proven to be child-resistant.

Steps in setting up the Sentricon System

  1. First, your premise will be inspected for signs of termites. Once termite activity is detected, the Recruit AG termite bait station will be installed at strategic locations.

  2. The Recruit AG will be monitored and checked on a regular basis (at least during a one-to-two-week interval.)

  3. If one-third to one-half of the bait matrix has been consumed and if active feeding continues, a supplementary station shall be added by stacking it on top of the existing station. Stacking allows for addition of Recruit AG units without disturbing termites foraging within the previously installed stations.
